Chez Fritz was built and opened in 1963 by Thea and Fritz Elsener. After a comprehensive renovation in 2025, the restaurant now shines in new splendor.

Lukas Schrottenbaum

The experienced restaurateur from Vorarlberg has been living in Zurich since 2018. During this time, he significantly shaped Eden Kitchen & Bar at La Réserve Eden au Lac. Before that, Lukas gained valuable experience at the legendary Tantris restaurant in Munich, where he refined his passion for fine dining. Most recently, Lukas successfully managed Brasserie Süd and The Counter by Nenad Mlinarevic. With his love for wine and warm hospitality, Lukas is the perfect host for Chez Fritz.

Igino Bruni

Born in Sicily, Igino has lived in Switzerland since 2008 and has refined his culinary style through various roles over the years. He spent many years in the mountains, where he cooked alongside Armin Amrein in Davos, among others. A lover of Mediterranean cuisine, he continues to develop it with passion. With his market-fresh, refined fish cuisine and his positive nature, Igino is a great asset to our restaurant.

As a family-run company, Bianchi has been supplying the Swiss gastronomy industry for five generations. High quality standards, transparent warehousing, and fast processes are what set Bianchi apart.

| Olive Oil

Val Paradiso

In the Valley of the Temples in southern Sicily grow the olives used for our olive oil. The Val Paradiso manufactory has received multiple awards for its sustainable production. Our head chef brought this oil with him from his homeland.

ViCAFE

Founded in Eglisau in 2010, ViCAFE has become an essential part of Zurich’s coffee culture. The coffee is roasted in Zurich. The team guarantees top quality and a sustainable, transparent value chain.

OUR ART

Chez Fritz showcases works by Thirza Schaap and Caspar Faassen. Both artists are represented in Zurich and Amsterdam by Bildhalle.

Plastic Ocean

Thirza Schaap lives in South Africa and creates beautiful sculptures from beach debris as part of her “Plastic Ocean” project. Her work raises awareness of global water pollution and aims to strengthen environmental consciousness.

The Space Between
